What is tufting?

In tufting you stretch a special fabric on a wooden frame, draw your design on it, and push the yarn through the fabric with a gun-like tool.
Cut pile or loop pile?
- Loop pile: the loops stay closed, for a curly texture.
- Cut pile: the loops are cut, for a velvety texture.
